Join award winning illustrator Jackie Morris and Seven Fables at Barnstaple Library for an inspiring day.

Internationally admired for her imaginative and atmospheric picture books, illustrated with watercolours and often with a fantasy dimension, Jackie has over thirty years’ experience writing and illustrating books, and says that from the age of six she knew that she wanted to be an artist because she realised it would never be possible for her to be a bear…

Jackie will be setting up her studio, awakening her watercolours and playing with gold leaf, sharing insights into how she works, her inspirations and forthcoming projects.

Seven Fables will be supporting her book sales throughout the day and Jackie will happily sign copies for all who visit. Visitors will also be able to participate in creative activities inspired by Jackie’s work.

Jackie Morris & Seven Fables book sale will be situated on the Ground Floor between 11am & 1pm & 2pm & 4pm.

This event is a free to attend drop in as part of Barnstaple Library's Better Tomorrow season.

Throughout February and March, during library opening times our cabinets will feature a collection of treasured items gathered from Jackie’s Pembrokeshire studio and curated by Seven Fables. You will discover original sketchbooks, personal art materials, cherished natural objects and one of her many, characterful typewriters.
