Barnstaple lit up by local heroes

A big thanks from everyone at The Voice to those who turned out for the spectacular Barnstaple
Christmas Lights Switch On 2018. The event, on Sunday 18th November, was a great success and
Voice listeners played such a big part in what turned out to be a fabulous evening.

...With some great entertainment throughout the day, and on the evening stage, the focus
soon fell on the big Switch On.

Hopps was joined on stage by our good friend, TV presenter Seth Conway, who in turn
introduced the crowd to ‘Smee’ from the town’s Panto ‘Peter Pan’ at The Queen’s Theatre.

Listeners to The Voice had been nominating their local heroes, one of whom would be selected by a
special panel to actually help push the button and turn on the lights. The three finalists were on stage
and so worthy were they all of getting the honour that it was decided all three could have a hand on
the button! A fabulous gesture that went down well with an appreciative audience.
