Advice and support for residents
Where to find community support
If you are clinically extremely vulnerable and have been asked to shield, you will shortly be receiving a letter from the government setting out what support is available. In the meantime, please seek help from friends, family, neighbours or local volunteers. Please also go to North Devon Council's website for information on community support in your local area.
Financial help for households
If anyone in your household has seen a drop in their income due to Covid-19 and this has affected your ability to afford essential items, such as household supplies and food, you may qualify for assistance. For more information on help available in North Devon and Torridge, go to Devon County Council's webpage Financial help in your local area.
Supporting your mental health during Covid-19
The world is an overwhelming place at the moment. Anxiety and uncertainty are common emotions, especially in the current Covid-19 landscape, with social distancing measures changing almost weekly. This is why taking care of your mental health is paramount.
Whether you are worried about your finances, your family's health, or simply finding the current pandemic situation difficult to handle, there is help available. North Devon Council has pulled together a list of organisations that are there if you need them.
