The Voice Public File
The Voice has obligations with regard to its programmes, including its music and local content. These obligations are set out in the station Key Commitments which forms part of this station's Public File. The Public File is also available in hard copy by post upon request by any member of the public, and serves as one indicator of each station's output. Comment on the contents of the Public File should be made to The Voice or to the industry regulator, Ofcom.

As a community radio station, The Voice is not required to maintain a public file, but has decided to do so for the sake of transparency to its community. Operational Information :
Transmission: The Voice broadcasts on 106.1 from Petroc College in Barnstaple and on 107.8 Ilfracombe Holiday Park in Ilfracombe and Holmacott Farm in Holmacott. The Voice is also available on DAB, Digital Radio.

Automation: The Voice automates some of its programming. On average this amounts to around one hour of daytime output.
Local production: All programming on The Voice is produced and presented locally from our studios in Barnstaple with the exception of The Vinyl Countdown which is pre-recorded show that are broadcast on other radio stations around the UK. Some programmes are also voice tracked remotely. You can read more about Ofcom's localness guidelines here.

Regular traffic news and weather reports are on air throughout daytime hours. We also provide our What's On Guide as additional services to our listeners.
News Contact Information:
The Voice does not have a dedicated news team. We include local news stories as editorial articles within our regular daytime programmes.
During live hours, we carry national and international news on the hour from Sky News and during automated hours, we carry national and international news on the hour from Radio News Hub. Some evening hours do not carry a regular news bulletin.

The Voice plays a melodic adult contemporary style of music which allows us to play a big variety of songs. There are categories that represent music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and the 2000 decades, as well as current songs and the latest ‘playlisted' music which highlights the most popular music of today.
