Women's Community Hub

Every year thousands of women and girls face abuse and violence just for being female and here is North Devon we are not exempt. We hear stories from brave women every week about how they are living with the fear of violence and sexual assault.... This needs to STOP..

We are supporting NDADA and Encompass in their aim to bring back into use 'The Watering Hole' an old disused pub in the centre of Barnstaple to create a women's 'Brave Spaces' community Hub which will provide a safe space for women across North Devon who need advice and support on the following issues faced by women; Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Homelessness, Substance Misuse, Mental Health, Sexual Health and support for women who have had their children removed.

The Hub will link together multiple women's centric projects which run across the area by providing a safe space, cafe, meeting rooms and a place for community connections.  The funds from the cafe will support long term sustainability of the Hub.

How can you help?

Initially there is a huge amount of work that needs to be done to convert the old pub into the new community hub.

They need Trades, furniture,  building supplies, labour, the list is pretty endless.  If you have a business and can help please complete the form below.  In return any business that supports the transformation will be offered £500 worth of advertising on the Voice free of charge, as a thank you!

Please complete the form below and help us all make this happen!
